Types of Label

The Standard Label (S1)

This is attached directly to the package containing one or more parts of the same type. It is simply used to identify the contents of the package and does not contain the shipping details. These fields are left empty.

The Master Labels

These are used to label individual or a group of packages in order to keep them together in a single consignment. The shipping details, the receiver and delivery point fields are always filled in. There are three types of master transport labels:

  Standard Type Master Label (S2)

This label is used to identify single transport packages that contain either loose parts or many packages sent in a bin or crate and too small to be labelled individually. The standard Master Label has both the shipping details and the part detail fields completed.

Master Type Label (M)

This is used on a transport unit constituted of a number of packages containing exactly the same part number. Each of the packages would have a normal standard label (S1) attached to it.

Group Type Label (G)

This is similar to the Master Type Label but is used on a transport unit constituted of a number of packages containing mixed part numbers. Each one of the individual packages would have a normal standard label (S1) attached to it.
