Four main responsibilities are covered by the Odette Technology Committee, which provides important technical solutions and support for Odette projects:

1. Managing the technologies which support Odette Recommendations (including the evaluation of new technologies). These include:
   
   • Process and Data Modelling (UML, CCTS)
   • Message Assembly & Enveloping (UN/CEFACT, OAGIS)
   • File Transfer Protocols (OFTP, OFTP2, AS2)
   • B2B Security (Encryption/Digital signature/Certificates)
   • RFID
     
2. Building B2B transaction sets (messages) that are coherent with the selected technologies.
   
3. Co-ordinating with other standardisation bodies (e.g. UN/CEFACT, CEN, ISO etc) to ensure that Odette technological choices are coherent with those of other industry associations and sectors.
   
4. Supporting implementation of the technologies and transaction sets across the European automotive industry and beyond.
