MMOG: Strengthening Supply Chain Management Capability and Performance

MMOG in Numbers
With more than 150,000 assessments completed globally, MMOG is the most widely used supply chain self-assessment process in the automotive sector. It supports more than 10,000 accounts in 70 countries, covering approximately 14,000 plants and over 30,000 users through a single standardised global process.

Compliance and Supply Chain Improvements
MMOG is recognised within the automotive community for its strong cost-to-value balance, offering a practical and efficient approach to the assessment of supply chain management capability when compared with more resource-intensive methodologies.

Organisations use MMOG to support supplier development and as a practical improvement tool to identify process gaps, benchmark performance and support continuous improvement initiatives. By providing a common process for customers and suppliers, MMOG helps drive greater transparency, consistency and collaboration across global automotive supply chains.

Many companies use MMOG assessment results to feed into their IATF 16949 Quality Assessments, particularly in relation to logistics capability, planning maturity and supply chain performance.

MMOG Catalogue Version 7
Automotive supply chain experts from Europe and the US are currently working on MMOG v7, ensuring that the tool continues to reflect the latest SCM concepts and practices.

The planned enhancements reflect broader industry trends, including increasing digitalisation down the tiers, growing cybersecurity expectations, more complex multi-tier supply chains, and the ever-increasing sustainability and compliance requirements.

It is anticipated that MMOG v7 will become available in Q3 2026.

MMOG continues to evolve as the global reference for supply chain management capability assessment to ensure that the automotive community remains aligned with a changing regulatory and operational landscape, including increasing expectations around digitalisation, sustainability, and supply chain transparency.
